Tampa Man, 38, killed when car is forced off road and hits Ruskin power pole

A driver crashed into a Tampa man, 38, trying to pass him, forcing him off the road and into a power pole. A 41-year-old Tampa driver passing another vehicle in the inside lane around 6:45 pm Saturday allegedly caused an accident, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The driver hit the victim’s vehicle’s right rear with his left front end. According to the troopers, when crashing with the car, the man overcorrected his car, causing it to travel returning across the southbound lanes, the grass median, as well as overturning and stopping in the northbound lanes. On the west shoulder, the 39-year-old, driving the second vehicle, hit a power pole and overturned. The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
